Chinese Logic
A young boy is being encouraged by his father to study hard
for the national exams as these will determine his future.
His father promises that if he receives a very high score,
that the father will help him to marry the best woman in the
village.
The boy does study day and night, and earns one of the
highest grades.
His elated father tells him to choose the best woman to
marry, and the father pledges that he will assist in arranging
the marriage. The father tells the boy that the woman must
not only be beautiful but must be kind, have a red heart,
and be many things for the boy.
After a moments contemplation, the boy states that he has
made his choice.
The father, being pleased that he can show his appreciation
to his son, asks with bated breath "WHO IS SHE?"
The boy says, "She is my grandmother - I think she is the
best woman to marry."
"But she is MY mother," replies the father, "You simply can't
marry my mother."
"Why not?" Challenges the boy, "You are married to my
mother."
This is a Chinese logic joke.
